Background

As a nutritionist, Agaath Zondervan noticed that conventional dietary advice consistently failed the same group of people: those whose eating patterns were driven not by hunger, but by emotion, stress, disconnection, and nervous system dysregulation. No diet addresses that, because the problem was never the food.

That observation led her to the science of interoception - the body's ability to sense its own internal state - and to the development of the Body Intelligence Framework as a practical alternative to dieting. The method draws on peer-reviewed research in interoception, polyvagal theory (Dr. Stephen Porges), the gut-brain axis, and stress physiology.

She is the author of Soul Snacks and Soulful Slank, and the creator of the Soulful Reset - a 10-week online programme available in English and Dutch.

The Body Intelligence Framework

The Body Intelligence Framework is Agaath Zondervan's signature method. It teaches people to decode their body's signals across three layers:

The framework is not a diet and contains no food restrictions, calorie counting, or forbidden foods. It is designed to restore interoceptive awareness - the ability to feel and interpret the body's own signals - so that eating becomes a natural response to genuine need rather than a learned coping strategy.
