The mind can rationalize almost anything. But the body always tells the truth.

Tension, fatigue, tightness, calmness, lightness, ease, energy.

The body constantly reveals what feels aligned and what does not.

“Learning to trust those signals changes everything.”

The body communicates through sensation, and sensation is continuous. Right now, as you read this, your body is sending signals: the pressure of where you're sitting, the temperature of your skin, the quality of your breath, the tension in your jaw, the openness or tightness in your chest. Most of this information never reaches conscious awareness, not because it isn't there, but because we have learned to filter it out in favour of the relentless stream of thought. The body never stops speaking. We have stopped listening.

In the context of food and eating, this has profound consequences. Hunger signals that go unnoticed lead to eating from urgency rather than attunement. Fullness signals that go unfelt lead to eating past satisfaction. Emotional states that register in the body but not in consciousness lead to eating that seems compulsive because its source is invisible. Every one of these patterns becomes visible (and therefore workable) the moment you begin to restore the conversation with your body.

The body never lies is not a spiritual platitude. It is an observable fact. A body that is exhausted produces specific sensations, heaviness, slowness, the particular quality of eyes that don't want to focus. A body that is hungry produces different sensations from a body that is emotionally empty. A body that has had enough to eat feels different from a body that has been overfed. The information is precise. The question is always whether we are available to receive it.

Notice this

Spend two minutes today in a body scan: start at the top of your head and slowly move your attention downward, noticing (not analysing) what is there. Warmth, tension, ease, pressure, nothing in particular. Just practice receiving what's there. This is interoception training, and it works.

Your body is not broken. It is speaking, often more clearly than we realise. The Body Intelligence Framework is built around exactly this: learning to hear what your body is already saying, and trusting it more each day.
